What is a Tiny House?

Tiny house is a small, portable dwelling with a minimalistic, compact design. These homes generally display clever ways of utilizing space. Ideally, they are self-sufficient (or mostly so) and function as full-time dwellings. While some of these homes are mobile, not all are, and it is not a requirement. Many are built to be off-grid and self-contained, generating their own water and electricity. Going toward more sustainable future, Tiny Houses are ideal solution for compact buildings with low-impact on environment. Tiny Houses are all about flexibility and freedom. For some, it’s the freedom to live a well-balanced life by purchasing something small without having to rely on a mortgage. For others, it’s the flexibility of being able to change the size, function and location of an existing home.

What would I use my tiny house for?

HOUSE RENTAL UNIT

A person’s home should be able to change as their needs change: to expand, contract, re-organize, and even move if the need arises. Compact, moveable homes can supplement existing housing beautifully, without the usual expenses and developmental hurdles, meaning that you can use a Tiny House to house friends and family, or even rent out as an extra source of income.

GLAMPING RESORT

Glamping tourism is currently most expanding trend in tourism. Its definition is “A form of camping involving accommodation and facilities more luxurious than those associated with traditional camping”. Using tiny houses as dwellings in glamping resorts provides all the comfort of hotel rooms while guests are enjoying the natural surrounding and all the benefits that it provides. To glamping resort Developers – Tiny Houses are the fastest way to develop their business from design idea to rent, providing unique experience to their future guests.

OFF-GRID DWELLING

For the free-spirited, the nature lovers, and those without affordable access to grid services. Where grid infrastructure exists, fixed and permanent dwellings often must be connected to it, regardless of the user’s wishes. Portable dwellings bypass this requirement, and the small scale makes passive, off-grid systems particularly effective.

STUDIO / RETAIL SPACE / OFFICE / EXPO

A studio space – discrete, manageable, and just enough to run your home business in piece. A mobile retail space for markets, festivals and large events – coupled with demountable outdoor deck space. An office, just how you like it, that lets you take your business with you. Expo space – perfect mobile solution for a meeting space or office.

TEMPORARY ACCOMMODATION / RELIEF HOUSING

Tiny houses on wheels are perfectly suited for temporary and relief housing – they can be shuffled and re-organized as the need arises. Perhaps you’re planning your bigger dream home and want to live on-site during construction, or get to know the land while you’re still designing – keep it there and it’ll make the perfect guest house when you’re done!
Tiny House Movement
The Tiny House Movement is an architectural and social movement that encourages living a simpler life in a smaller space. People from all walks of life have determined that a large home, and more specifically, the large cost of living that comes with it, is both unnecessary and a detriment to their happiness. These people have turned to tiny house living to reduce the financial and emotional burden of STUFF.
Europe Building Codes and Standards for Tiny Houses

Tiny house building codes and standards in Europe differ across countries, regions, and municipalities. While we can offer general information on our website, it’s vital that you consult Local Authorities and professionals to ensure compliance – before you proceed with buying/constructing one.

Serbian Building Codes and Standards for Tiny Houses
Mood House houses are mobile, they do not require any conventional foundations – they are placed on special feet, which are an integral part of the substructure of the house. According to Serbian regulations, such mobile buildings are categorized as temporary prefabricated buildings and do not require a building permit. Check the exact regulations with your local administration in order to get more precise information about the conditions for placing this tzpe of buildings on your plot.

Mood Houses are lightweight houses due to their structure and don’t require traditional foundations. They present the most eco-friendly solution for dwellings, without need for excavation and conventional site preparation. They are placed on special feet/footings, which are integral part of the substructure of the house OR in case of sloped terrain, specially designed pile foundation are installed, again with minimum impact to soil. However, proper study of terrain and site location have to be conducted prior to mobile house installation – to assure that bearing capacity of the soil and other environmental factors complement the safety and stability of the installed house.

For those who don’t want to go through process of full customization – we have offered 3 range of options (STANDARD, PREMIUM, LUX) which can be found in our CONFIGURATOR.
Does the house need utility connections?
No it doesn’t. There are 2 options available, depending on your site conditions:
  1. SITE WITH UTILITY CONNECTIONS (water, electricity, sewage…). This might be the most convenient option for Owners where based on our requirements you prepare the utility connections on selected site and after delivery and house installation – we just hook all the services.
  2. SITE WITHOUT UTILITY CONNECTIONS (OR with only some utility connections available). Based on site location we can provide you with partially or fully off-grid solution – in cooperation with our Associates, who are specialized in this type of solutions.
Are Mood Houses energy efficient?
Yes they are. This is one of the important reasons for Tiny House users to go tiny – to cut their energy bills and use less power to heat/cool their houses. All our models come with 15cm rock wool insulation, plywood boards from inside and wooden, ventilated façade from outside. Our roofs are also ventilated.  Due to their small volume, it doesn’t take lot of time and energy to heat/cool down your house. House orientation and windows location also takes big part of proper energy efficiency design, during development stage. Depending on your site location we can add extra insulation or introduce some special solutions to enhance insulation properties.
How are the houses heated / cooled?

Our preference, if site conditions allow it, is to use electrical heaters/convectors for heating and inverter AC for cooling and heating as well. These electrical options are most convenient and easy to maintenance and control (even from distant location through internet connection). Many other options for heating are available – all according to your preference and site conditions / utility connections (gas stove, wood stove, pellet stove etc.)
